Radiologically, tuberculosis of the spine is usually first seen as a narrowing of the intervertebral space. This can be best identified by looking at the relative size of the intervertebral spaces. Here, the space between T12 and L1 is narrower than either that between T11 and T12, and L1 and L2, thus localizing the affection.
