Tuberculosis may also manifests itself in the integument. The most destructive manifestion of cutaneous tuberculosis is lupus vulgaris. It is noteworthy that the first Nobel prize given for Medicine or Physiology for tuberculosis (before Robert Koch in 1906), was to the Dane Niels Finsen in 1904, for the apparently reasonably effective use of heliotherapy.
