The prevalence of tuberculous infection among high school students in the United States was related to the socio-economic conditions at the parent's home of the students.

By education of the parents, the differences were large, but even larger by number of rooms available per person.  This would indicate again the pre-eminent role of crowded living conditions on the prevalence of infection.
