An updated approach to look at the epidemiology of tubeculosis in similar terms was used in Hong Kong, where the epidmeiological situation has rapidly improved. The authros come to similar conclusions that also make intuitively sense that cases resulting from recent transmission ("primary tuberculosis") decreases as the reisk of infection decreases, while cases resulting from reactivation of remote infection change slower and make thus an increasing contribution to total morbidity with the passage of time.
