The relative risk of dying from tuberculosis (in the absence of intervention) by sex has not been examined very closely.

The Danish data allow some estimation of this risk.  From the data shown in the previous slide, a sex ratio has been calculated here. These data suggest that women in their early reproductive age are at higher risk of dying from pulmonary tuberculosis than their age-peer males. In older age groups (except the oldest), the risk of death is higher in men than in women.
