These reflections are summarized here a bit more concise, and it should be noted that this is a hypothesis which may best summarize some of the findings our forefathers have communicated, but if borned out, this carries important messages for the prospects of vaccine development, in that perhaps the issue is not the "weakness" of BCG, but indeed how our immune system does not respond with a long-lasting cetnral immunity, but rather with a short-lived peripheral immune response.
