When the pneumonia did not resolve on non-specific antimicrobial chemotherapy, the patient was referred to the tuberculosis clinic where this radiograph was taken. With the clinical presentation and the diagnosis of tuberculosis in his father, a diagnosis of tuberculosis was highly probable.
