In this study from a center in the United States that is renowned for the management of complex cases with extensive drug resistance, an in-depth interview of patients with multidrug-resistant (MDR) tuberculosis (resistance to at least both isoniazid plus rifampicin) has shown that a medical error in the management of the patient in the past was identified in the majority of patients.
