An adverse treatment outcome was defined as death of any cause, default, transfer out, treatment failure, or relapse. Conversely, a successful outcome was defined as a patient who completed treatment and had no relapse.

The final cohort of patients achieved a treatment success by this definition of close to 90%, comparable to that which can be achieved with a first-line regimen for previously untreated patients.
